29 year old suspected thief lynched by angry mob

A 29 year old man who was suspected to be thief was on Wednesday lynched by mob in Northern division Kabale municipality after he was caught trying to break into one of the shops in the area.

The deceased has been identified at Ibrahim Tusiime, a resident of Rwere cell Muyanje parish in Bubare sub county Rubanda district. It is alleged that, at around 5:00AM ,the deceased was lynched after he was caught red-handed trying to break into one of the shops in Kirwa cell ,Kijuguta ward in Northern division Kabale municipality.

Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate says police was notified, visited the scene and rushed Tusiime to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Maate condemned mob justice and urges the public to always use relevant offices than taking law into their own hands.

He says that the individuals involved in the heinous act will be arrested and charged after investigations in the matter are completed.
