As the primary and secondary Education Calendar for the year 2017 officially closes today, the Ibanda Municipality Education officer John Katwesigye has disclosed that they have not registered any alarming cases, since the year begun, across all schools in Ibanda Municipality apart from simple cases of demonstrations and strikes.

Speaking to Rwenzori FM Eiraka Radio, Katwesigye noted that most teachers have showed seriousness this year compared to last year and learners sat for all sets of exams as directed by the ministry of education.

He however called upon parents to work hand in hand with teachers and inspectors, especially during the long holiday whereby they can take up the role of teachers and help their children perfect their academic performance and instill more discipline.

He further encourages leaner’s that are in holidays to avoid peer groups and focus on a bright future. He appeals to the holiday makers, especially Senior four and six to desist from gambling, alcoholism and other ill habits during the holiday.

Meanwhile, the traffic police is warning motorists and road users against overloading.
