Over 100 trees planted by members of Ibanda Hill Trekkers Club, in a move to keep the Environment Gr

As the one way of conserving and keeping the environment green, over 100 members of Ibanda Hill Trekkers Club, this morning engaged in tree planting and other activities, in Ibanda Municipality.

According to Muhumuza Godwins Oulanya, the Club Coordinator, who doubles as Nsasi sub-county councilor, while at Nyakakiri Primary School Nsasi in Bufunda Division, where they planted over 180 trees said that, as youth, they started the Club with the aim of discovering Natural features in the district that can attract tourists, discover and protect the beauty of Ibanda District, as well as engaging youth in protecting the environment.

They went ahead and planted over 50 trees at Nsasi Secondary school, where local leaders promised to work hand in hand with the school management committees, to take care of the planted trees.

Dinnah Kankambwe, the chairperson Local Council One said that, they will ensure that, the planted trees are well protected from livestock.

50 trees were also planted at Raising Stars Primary School.

Meanwhile, Arinaitwe Julius Katungye well known as K.K a member of the same club, who doubles as the Operations Director at Rwenzori FM Eiraka Radio, called upon everyone to act as a roll model and key player, in conserving the Environment.
