The resident district commissioner for Rukiga, Emmy Ngabirano said that almost all the retail shops and food stores among others were flooded. He was, however, quick to note that no death had been reported.
The retail shops and buildings like Kanyabwera hardware, Divine hotel, Tian B studio, Muhanga cosmetics centre, Muhanga police post, Kalita transporters offices among others were submerged in water.
According to the head teacher of Muhanga Golden day and boarding primary school Oscar Akampurira, the down pour that started at 10:00am lasted for about three hours, forcing the locals to flee to their neighbors.
