Aggrey Mushabe warns tenants against filling pit latrines with garbage
The LCIII chairperson for Kagongo division, Aggrey Mushabe has warned tenants to stop the vice of filling pit latrines of their land lords with garbage, fearing to pay Shs 500 as garbage collection fee per sack.
Aggrey Mushabe disclosed this recently during the state of division address at Kagongo division council meeting which was chaired by Benedict Byamukama the division speaker.
Mushabe said that he has received complaints from over 10 land lords who found their pit latrines filled with garbage instead of waste.
He noted that ever since the Ibanda municipal council passed a resolution that every person should retain the garbage at home and every sack is Shs 500, people now put them in toilets others in trenches and roadsides.
He said that this habit is mainly in Kyaruhanga ward along Jubilee Street and the house owners are facing a big challenge to empty the pit latrines or else digging new ones.
