Ibanda: Government hailed for creating reforms to address issues affecting women
The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has termed as “remarkable”, the progress it has made in creating legal and policy reforms to address issues affecting women in Uganda.
The Ministry’s director for Gender and Community Development Jane Mpagi however decries the inappropriate and inadequate infrastructure which has hindered women’s progress and development, thus urging government to improve in that field for a major transformation.
Mpagi’s remarks come in line with the Women’s Week which began on 5th March and will go on up to 10th March 2018 under the theme;“Transformations for empowerment of rural women and girls: Opportunities and challenges”.
