Repatriated Bubulo West MP Detained at Nalufenya

Police spokesperson, Emiliam Kayima has confirmed that, former Bubulo West legislator, Tony Nsubuga Kipoi, who was yesterday deported back into the country from Botswana, is detained at the Nalufenya police detention center.

Kipoi, was brought back into the country in a private chattered plane, amidst tight security.

The former legislator was arrested in Botswana with one Robert Kitale for allegedly obtaining money by false pretense as witch doctors.

The two were charged in court on two counts of illegally staying in the country, and falsely obtaining money from citizens.

Kipoi had been wanted by authorities in Uganda, before he fled the country.

Among the cases the former MP has been facing, was human trafficking, which was reported to Bukedea police on file number CRB 393/2013, and treason which is registered at the CID Headquarters, on file E/439/2012.
