Kanungu: 35-year Old Man Arrested For Murdering His 3 year old baby

Police in Kanungu district is holding a 35 year old man, over alleged murder of 3 year old boy.

Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate confirms the arrest, and identifies the suspect as Brian Abisinguza, a resident of Nyarugunda village, Nyarugunda parish, Kambuga Sub-County, Kanungu district.

It’s alleged that, on Friday night at around 11;30 pm at Nyarugunda village, the suspect intentionally assaulted Laban Ainomugisha, so as to annoy Medrina Anyendeza, 28 , the mother to the deceased, for allegedly practicing witch craft.

Maate says that, the suspect was arrested following a tip off from one Mubaraka Oyeteise aged 61, who hails from the same village.

Maate says that, the child was taken to Kambuga Hospital where he later died from after a few minutes. He adds that, after investigations, the suspect will be produced in courts of law, to answer charges accordingly.
