28 year old man arrested from a lodge in Ibanda over alleged theft

Police in Ibanda has this morning arrested a 28 year old man over alleged theft.

Henry Kakuru , a resident of Kyarutanga, in Kagongo Division, Ibanda was arrested from Mid city Lodge, in Bufunda street , Ibanda town, following a tip off by the manager ,Eric Kiziiri .

Kiziiri explains that he became suspicious after Kakuru checked in, to book a room, early in the morning just to keep in his property.

According to Hannington Asiimwe, the OC operations at Ibanda police station, Kakuru was found with an LG flat screen, Samsung lap top, DVD player, Home theatre system and others. The suspect also had a hammer, pliers, nails as well as a number of house and car keys in his suitcase. He adds that further police investigations have commenced.

However, speaking to our reporter, Kakuru denied having stolen the property, saying his friend, Kazungu Abias, had given them to him from Rwamwanja settlement camp.
