Bushenyi-Ishaka municipal Engineer on the spot over 'misappropriation' of road funds

Bushenyi-Ishaka municipal Engineer; Deus Baingana is on spotlight over the accountability of 336 million shillings, meant for roads in first quarter and second quarter, 2017-2018 financial year.
The municipal mayor, Jackson Kamugasha argues that, no work was done on the roads, that were supposed to be renovated in the first and second quarters, accusing Baingana of having diverted the said money, leaving the roads in a sorry state.
According to Kamugasha, 36 million shillings was meant for working on 3km of the Liberation –Nyamiko road, and more 36 million shillings for Ruhandagazi - Kakanju road, whereas 12 million shillings was allocated for renovating 1km on Basajja-Buramba road.
He further says, 450million shillings was meant for tarmacking Rwemirokora-Basajja road, but shoddy work is being done on the road.
Kamugasha says, Baingana is now using the money of the third quarter of January-March 2018, to renovate the roads that were supposed to be renovated during the first quarter and second quarter, in the 2017-2018 financial year.
However, When contacted, Baingana advised Kamugasha to patiently wait for a report from the IGG’s and Auditor general offices.
