Micro-Finance Official Committed to Civil Prison Over Debts

Kabale Grade one magistrates has charged and committed to civil prison an employee of the Micro Finance Support Centre in Kabale over failure to pay Eight hundred and eighty nine thousand shillings (Shs.889,000=)

Bernice Mutabazi who works as a customer relations officer for the Micro Finance Support Centre was charged before the Kabale Grade one Magistrate His Worship Raphael Vueni for failure to pay 889,000= that she got from a money lender , identified as Leo Mbabazi.

Mutabazi who was arrested from Kabale town today Basigyi high court bailiffs after several court summons and reminders to pay the money all in vain, on top of declining to surrender property that she had staked as security.

Mutabazi told court that was presided over by, his worship Raphael Vueni to give her more time so she can look for the money . However, Worship Vueni declined to grant her more time and committed her to civil prison until she pays the money and bailiffs.
