IBANDA: RDC Orders closure of Kilimanjaro Airport Company over sexual harassment

Ibanda resident Distruct Commisioner( RDC ), Eliasto Akatuheebwa has closed the Kilimanjaro Airport Company (KADCO) and arrested the operational managers over alleged sexual harassment of workers.

The company that deals in door to door selling of house hold utensils , is located in Ishongororo town council in ishongororo town along the high way street with over 40 workers.

Its closure and the arrest of its officials comes after the workers , whose identities have been withheld , reported this matter to the office of the RDC, saying that their bosses awake them as early as 5:00am to do physical exercise in preparation for their work but in those physical exercises , the males are forced to involve in touching breasts and other private parts of girls which is one of the rules of the company.

On being questioned these operational mangers Owen Tayebwa and Banabas Niwamanya who were by press time being held by Ishongororo police admitted , but insisted that they also have their bosses who put up these rules and regulations.

However Eliasto expressed worry since most of these workers have only completed senior four and six but have ended up in such wrong hands .
