70-year-old man hacks to death his two children and Wife, Commits suicide

Poilce in Kibaaale district is investigating circumstances under which a 70-year-old man committed suicide after hacking to death his two children aged between 5-12 and assaulting his wife on Tuesday.

Acording to David Otabong , the district police commander, Erikanjiro Behangiza, 70, a resident of Kitonya Village Bubango sub-county Kibaale district is alleged to have killed his two children using an axe, before attacking his 20–year-old wife, Jennifer Kyaligonza and cut off her arms and other body parts .

Otabong said the children were rushed to Mubende regional referral hospital but died on arrival and their mother Kyaligonza is nursing severe wounds at Kibaale Health center IV.

Kyaligonza, told police that her husband ,who often returned home drunk, on that fateful day demanded to be served Matooke which was not available and he instead descended on her with a Panga and an axe.
