IBANDA: AK 47 Gun Belonging to fallen Mbarara Police Constable Recovered

Police in Ibanda with the help of crime preventers and locals of Keihangara sub-county, have recovered an AK-47 gun without rounds of ammunition. According to the Ibanda district police commander, Micheal Akaturinda; this gun was recovered by residents, after arresting a suspected motorcycle robber last night, who had been using it to terrorize the community, along Ibanda-Mbarara highway. Akaturinda says, the residents lynched the unknown person and recovered the gun, which was stolen from the police constable who was killed in Mbarara district, on 23rd December 2017.

Ibanda district resident commissioner, Eliasto Akatuheebwa who visited the scene of crime this morning, hailed the locals for recovering the gun, but condemned mob justice.
