Kabale FDC Boss Arrested for Burglary

Police in Kabale is holding the Kabale District Forum for Democratic Change-FDC Youth League Chairperson, Renah Stanislaus Owamani alias Kakimbiri for alleged burglary and theft.

The 26-year-old businessman and resident of Butobere cell in Central Division, Kabale Municipality was arrested in the wee hours of Monday morning at around 04:00am after breaking into the shop of Evalist Tugeineyo in Kigongi A cell.

Owamani is said to have stolen a black coat and wallet containing Shillings 400, 000, national identity card, driving permit and other documents from the shop.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, confirmed Owamani's arrest, saying he has been on the police list of the wanted for mobile phone theft On December 30th, last year.

Maate says that Owamani was found with a stolen smartphone belonging to Diaz Maniragaba, a resident of Igabiro cell in Southern division during arrest.
