Northwest Ankole Diocese youth convention ends with a call on youth to start up self help projects

The first ever Northwest Ankole diocesan youth convention successfully ended yesterday at Kibubura Intergrated primary school hall with a call on youth to start up self help projects to earn a living and support their parents.

While addressing thousands of youth who turned up for the convetion, Dr. Mushumbusha Geofrey from the Gender and women department at Makerere university and Rev Canon John Mulindabigwi from all saints archdeaconry Mbarara, Ankole diocese , urged youth to start small projects like pumpkin growing, hand crafts, small scale farming among others.

They noted with concern that most youth waste most of their time playing pool table, politicking, drinking alcohol, fornicating, and betting among other vices that do not add value to their lives.

Some of the participants our reporter spoke to thanked the organizers who are northwest Ankole diocese led by Rt. Rev Bishop Amos Magezi because they have learnt a lot.

The diocesan youth coordinator, Rev Norman Mutungi said that the conference was meant to draw the youth closer to God.
