Police in Ibanda is investigating circumstances under which unknown people sent a live bullet and a head of a goat head in a wrapped box to a magistrate.

While briefing our reporter today in his office, Ibanda District

Police Commander, Michael Akaturinda said an unknown taxi driver from Mbarara heading to Ibanda town dropped off the wrapped box at Ibanda Court Offices yesterday morning.

He however declined to disclose the magistrates’ name for security reasons, only revealing that the magistrate to whom the wrapped box was sent is away on leave.

He said, if they find the source, he or she will be charged with threatening violence.

Efforts by our reporter to get a comment from the Ibanda Chief Magistrate were futile since he was not in office by the time of compiling the story.
