UNEB registers better PLE performance rate in 2017

The Uganda national examination board has registered a better performance rate in the 2017 primary leaving examination compared to 2016.
Releasing the examinations at the office of the prime minister, the Uneb secretary general Daniel Odongo says that out of the 628,606 pupils who turned up for the exams,571,252 (90.9%) passed the exams while 57, 354 failed the exams (got U hence failing completely).
Odongo says a total of 57,198 pupils passed in first division, 293,977 passed in the second division, 128,573 passed in third division while 91,504 passed in fourth division. He notes that a candidate is deemed to have passed if she or he obtained division grades of 1,2,3 and 4.
He says that this year's performance have improved compared to last year since 90.9% of pupils passed this year compared to 87% last year.

Here in Ibanda District, some of the schools have averagely improved on their performance, compared to 2016, according to Schools Head teachers.
Some of them which performed better are; Greta Nursery and Primary School which has 9 in first grade and 22 in second Grade,
Ibanda Preparatory Primary school has 41 in Grade one and others in 2nd grade.
Syroma Junior Primary School in Kicuzi has 5 in grade one and 12 in grade 2 , Bubaare primary School has 13 in grade 1 and 46 in grade 2, Angels Nursery and Primary school has 8 in grade 1 and 23 in grade 2, Ibanda Valley has 5 in Grade 1, St Paul's Igorora has 28 in grade 1 and 7 in grade 2 and Raising stars primary school has 15 in grade 1 and 15 in grade 2 .
