The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) has donated 10 computers to selected health centers in Kabale.
According to Chris Kasaija, an official from the UNICEF Child Survival program, the move is geared at improving health care service delivery for children in the area.
Kasaija further explained that the organisation has embarked on a strategy to reduce infant mortality rates in Uganda.
He added that through this tool health workers will be able to receive tips on how to handle illnesses that affect children in communities.
Kasaija noted that health workers will be empowered to interact with parents about better child health care.
While receiving the laptops at Kabale district headquarters on Monday, Patrick Besigye Keihwa asked beneficiaries to put the gadgets to good use so as to benefit the general sector.
Immaculate Mandela, the acting Kabale district health officer noted that with the arrival of laptops and motorcycles, the district shall be celebrating an improved health service delivery soon.
